AMBA Membership Committee Update: October 2021

Well, after almost a year and a half of an altered state of reality, it was a real pleasure to get together on Thursday Sept 16th at the Ranch for our 2021 AMBA Golf Tournament.  Although the morning started out a little chilly, the weather cooperated and everyone had a good time reconnecting with fellow steel building stalwarts.  Kudos to the organizing committee and especially to Linda for a great selection of what seemed like unending prizes to hand out.

Elsewhere in this newsletter you can read about the introduction of Bill 67 and how it could impact our trade.  This Bill really underscores the importance of AMBA, as an association, representing our membership in front of the provincial government.   AMBA was formed around the creation of the MBSE specialist and we continue to fight as an association to preserve that designation as a professional body of skilled and competent Steel Building Erectors.

Don’t forget to take advantage of our AMBA newsletters and our social media to spread the word throughout our industry about your company and its accomplishments.  Maybe you have someone new or someone retiring who deserves an industry shout out.  Project profiles or interesting stories are always welcome.  Linda Giesinger has taken on the role of compiling newsletter and social media content.  You can reach her at linda.giesinger@shaw.ca with articles or photos or announcements.

We want to encourage every member to consider what they could offer to either “What’s New” or “Project Profiles”.  Linda would welcome any submissions and we look forward to including these not only in our quarterly newsletters but also on our website and social media platforms.

As always, if you know of anyone working in the industry who you think should be a member, please pass their information on to any of the Board members so that we can encourage them to join.  There is strength in numbers and we want to continue to grow the Association for the future generations of MBSE specialists.
