Founded in 1967, Peavey Mart has enriched the lives of farmers across Canada. With 90 stores, stretching from Nova Scotia to British Columbia, the Canadian-owned company offers the right mix of ‘Hardware and a Whole Lot More.’ Peavey Mart has a strong community presence and continually invests in and supports local partners.
The original Vegreville Peavey Mart, a 10,000-square-foot store, was built in 1985 by local builder, Vantage Builders. In 2022, Peavey Mart once again engaged Vantage Builders to double the store’s size and upgrade the façade.
To meet stringent energy code requirements and to reduce operating costs, the roof and wall systems were cavity filled with fibreglass insulation, purlins and girts were faced with thermal foam blocks and the perimeter of the foundation and the underside of the slab was constructed with four-inch-thick extruded polystyrene insulation.
During the construction process, Vantage Builders ensured the original portion of the store was safely separated from the construction zone so that it was operational and able to support the retail needs of the community.
The new and upgraded retail space was delivered on budget and on time!
