Project Profile: Camp Warwa

Camp Warwa is a non-profit organization that has been providing unforgettable outdoor experiences for youth since 1980. A new dining hall was the key to expanding their level of community service and sustaining it for generations to come. The new dining hall and multi-use building will allow them to serve 10,000 children each year.

The facility was designed to be energy efficient, not only to meet the energy codes, but also be friendly to the environment and comfortable to the occupants. To accommodate this requirement, a 12” Nucor thermal roof system and vapor barrier, and a 3” insulated wall panel were utilized. The facility includes a canopy for exterior dining. There is an indoor/outdoor fireplace that can be enjoyed from in the dining hall, as well as outside, while under the canopy. Nucor designed and fabricated the two vestibules with steep slopes. The vestibles utilize a 12” thermal roof and the Nucor Classic exterior panel in cypress green.
