We were very excited to honour two Alberta Metal Building Systems Erector apprentices and were so pleased that Nicole Mahoney, Chair of NAIT’s Ironworker program, was at our 2022 Annual General Meeting to present the AMBA awards.
Congratulations to Mitch Friesen of Kesho Construction Services on receiving the Jim Mitchell Memorial award for completing his first term of the MBSE program. Ray Friesen accepted the award on behalf of Mitch who was busy erecting a steel building!
Congratulations to Jordan Snopek of Scott Builders on receiving the Larry Derksen Memorial Award for completing his second term of the MBSE program. Jordan had previously received the Jim Mitchell Memorial Award when he completed his first term.
The Alberta Metal Building Association’s (AMBA) main goal is to promote safe and quality construction of metal buildings throughout the province of Alberta. AMBA has established two $1500 awards which are presented to AMBA member company apprentices annually. Recipents must successfully complete the Metal Building Systems Erector program with an examination mark of more than 75%, demonstrate technical ability, teamwork, reliability, safety and responsible job site conduct. Visit the AMBA Awards Page for more information and for award applications.
