HWD Construction Ltd. was formed in 1982 when Doug Henderson, Brian Wilson and Jack Durrant partnered to complete local projects for an Edmonton based bonding company. In 1990, the company purchased Hector and Victor’s Kitchens to provide a full range of carpentry services for the Peace Region and in 1995 became a certified Butler Builder and full-service Design Build Contractor.
HWD’s current owners have a long history with the company and maintain their Grande Prairie roots. With 22 people in the office, millwork shop and in the field, HWD has certified Architectural Technologists, Gold Seal certified Project Managers, Red Seal Carpenters, Cabinetmakers and Metal Building System Erectors to provide qualified services.
HWD is able to fulfill all your commercial and industrial building needs, specializing in design-build, general contracting and construction management services for new construction, additions, tenant improvements, renovations, millwork projects and maintenance services.
HWD has a strong commitment to safety and environmental sustainability. To attain the highest level of safety, HWD has been COR certified with the Alberta Construction Safety Association since 1995, is compliant with ISN and Complyworks safety monitoring systems, and utilizes SiteDocs Safety Management Software. HWD promotes sustainable construction, minimizes construction material waste and directs any non-reusable waste material to local recycling facilities.
“Our quality of work speaks for itself. We believe that the most savings on a project happens at the design phase, not the building phase. Having an experienced builder on your design team ensures your project will be completed efficiently, economically, safely, and responsibly during the entire build process.”
Glenn Penner, President
