Message from the Chair: Summer 2021

Colin Porte, Chairman, AMBA

Colin Porte, Chairman, AMBA

I look forward to my new position as Chair for AMBA.  I would like to thank John Weran for his commitment and hard work over the years as the Chairman.  John will be staying on the board as a director and part of the golf committee.

I would like to thank everyone that attended the online AGM on April 28, 2021.  Personally, I hope that is the last online AGM.  The AGM is meant to get our members together, network and discuss challenges in our industry.  We are excited that the AMBA Golf Tournament is scheduled for September 16th and appears that so far, we are good to go.

We are also looking forward to getting back to “normal” after a very long and challenging year and a half.  How that looks is still very unknown. However, the construction industry will adapt to the change and become stronger and more connected with their employees. Change is always good, as long as common sense prevails.  The construction industry has adapted and improved with major changes in Fall Protection Legislation and the National Energy Code.

This association is built to support the metal building industry and we intend to continue that focus.  If you have challenges, concerns, questions or ideas for making AMBA and the Metal Building industry stronger, please reach out to the AMBA board. If you are interested in participating on the board, please reach out to any of our board members.

Enjoy your summer and I look forward to seeing you in September at the AMBA Golf Tournament.
