I would like to thank all our members that supported AMBA for 2021. It was a tough year for most with floods in BC shutting down major supply chains and the pandemic not showing any end. Construction continues to become more and more difficult with extremely long lead times on materials and equipment, labour shortages, higher supply costs and a very competitive market.

Unfortunately, we could not meet in person for our 2021 Annual General Meeting; however, we were able to hold our annual golf tournament and had a great turnout. We have scheduled our 2022 Annual General Meeting tentatively for May 13th in the Edmonton area – hopefully we can have everyone gather for the event, enjoy the networking and have a couple beverages. We will continue to keep our members posted on our upcoming events.

Our Board of Directors would like to announce two new board members: Doug Pedersen (MBSE), Site Superintendent at Elan Construction and Walter Gegolick, Partner and President of Vantage Builders. Both Doug and Walter bring decades of metal building industry experience to the board and we are excited to be working with them. AMBA represents metal building contractors, suppliers and erectors throughout the province of Alberta and so it is refreshing to have representation from southern Alberta.
