Linda Giesinger has spent over four decades in the Metal Building Industry and has a wide range of experience in manufacturing, production, accounting, steel detailing, project management, contract administration, sales, and strategic planning. Retired as Area Sales Manager from Butler Manufacturing in 2020, Linda continues to work with Metal Building Construction firms in a marketing and sales role.

Linda has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from University of Alberta School of Business and is committed to working collaboratively with industry partners to promote safety, education, sustainability and quality competition in metal building construction.

Vice-chairman

Greg Dellezay has been involved with metal building erection for three decades and brings a wealth of knowledge to the AMBA board. He started working with Universal Erectors as an apprentice in 1993, received his Journeyman MBSE ticket in 1998 and operated R&J Erectors for 7 years. In 2013, he joined Scott Builders Inc. as Steel Superintendent, was promoted to Project Manager Steel & Foundations and then Steel Manager. In May of 2022, Greg joined Butler Manufacturing as the Western Canada Sales Manager. Greg has been working with AMBA since 2013 and recently completed a six year term on the Ironworkers Provincial Apprenticeship Committee.

Behlen Industries LP

Director

Kent is the Regional Sales Manager for Behlen Industries LP. Kent joined Behlen in 2000 and is responsible for Alberta, British Columbia and the Territories.

Prior to joining Behlen, Kent spent 22 years involved in high rise construction, holding numerous sales and managerial positions with Dover Elevator. Kent has lived across the country from British Columbia to Nova Scotia moving through several Sales and Operational Management positions in the field prior to taking responsibility for Factory Sales in 1992.  Subsequent roles included Overseas Operation Manager responsible for two off-shore joint ventures, and Special Projects Construction Supervision and Site Management.

Kent holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from York University. He resides in Stony Plain, Alberta with his wife, Susan.

Colin Porte began working at Brytex Building Systems Inc. in 2021. Prior, he has worked at Clark Builders from 2002, starting in the field as an MBSE apprentice working his way to a foreman.  In 2008 Colin moved into the office for CB Metals Division and started as a coordinator and currently working as a Senior Project Manager.  From 2006 to 2014 he sat on the board of the Ironworker Provincial Apprenticeship Committee.  Colin has been on the AMBA Golf committee since 2014 and on the Board of Directors since 2017.

Executive Director

Roger Geisinger was an original founding member of AMBA and past president of the organization. Roger recently retired from Clark Builders where he spent the majority of his career, culminating as The Metals Division Manager. Roger has sat on the Provincial Apprenticeship committee, along with several industry advisory councils including the Butler Buildings North American council.

After receiving an education degree, Roger started in the Metal Building Industry out in the field as an Ironworker. After erecting many projects spanning Northern Canada, Russia and in China, Roger made the transition into the Project Management role. With his wholistic knowledge of our craft Roger will be able to assist the board in bringing the most value to our members and industry.

Doug Pedersen

Director

Doug Pedersen joined the industry at PCL Construction in 1986 as an Apprentice Carpenter. He then went on to begin what would be his lifelong career at Elan Construction, obtaining his Journeyman in Carpentry in 1995, and MBSE in 1996. Since joining Elan Construction in 1990, Doug has held progressively more senior roles within the organization. Doug was named a Superintendent in 2000, where he currently managed and coordinated all of Elan’s steel construction crew.

With 30+ years of commercial construction experience, Doug is a proven leader sharing a vision with his team to bring each project to fruition. He focuses on training, safety, and sharing his many years of knowledge and experience to provide top-quality construction for clients and industry partners.

Bexson Construction Ltd.

Secretary/treasurer

Cody Bexson began his career at Bexson Construction in the summer of 2001. He started his carpentry apprenticeship shortly after and received his red seal Journeyman Certificate in 2009. During the Carpentry apprenticeship he was also able to complete the Ironworker MBSE apprenticeship and receive the Journeyman Certificate in 2007. He accepted the Larry Derksen Memorial Award in March of 2008 for his work in the Trade. Cody took a supervisory roll in the building erection division at Bexson Construction in 2009 and continued to erect metal buildings until 2011. He moved into an office position at this time and worked as an estimator and project manager. At this current date Cody is VP of Bexson Construction and a 1/3 owner of the business.

Walter Gegolick

Walter is a partner and the President of Vantage Builders Ltd in Vegreville, Alberta.  Walter, also well known as Sonny, graduated from NAIT in Architectural Technology and then started with Brytex Industries.  Shortly after, he moved back to his hometown of Vegreville to join the Vantage Builders Ltd. team in 1976.  He has been there for 46 years, growing with the company.  Vantage Builders Ltd started as an agricultural builder in pre-engineered metal buildings and grain bins, it evolved into a General Contractor in mainly commercial buildings.  Walter and his wife, Edie, have 3 married sons, 8 grandchildren aged 2-8 years old keeping them very busy.  Walter and Edie enjoy traveling, motorcycling, back-country exploring, snowmobiling, fishing, and spending time at the Elinor Lake cabin.

Christopher Dirsten is a Ponoka based MBSE journeyman with over 15 years experience in the field having worked for Canfer, Ledcor, Elan, and most recently Scott Builders Inc.

Todd Dyer joined the metal building industry in 2022 with Silvercote Canada as the Regional Manager for Canada overseeing the Calgary and Brampton locations. Prior to coming to Silvercote, Todd has been a business owner supporting the energy sector along with providing business leadership consulting to many industries across North America. Todd’s experience includes working in the services, manufacturing, and distribution sectors both domestically and internationally. Led key roles in Operations, Finance, HR, Marketing, and Business/Corporate Development. Focus on strategic vertical markets i.e., Construction, Mining, Industrial, Oil & Gas/Energy, Transportation, Property Management, High Traffic & Lodging.

Todd is known for his expertise as a problem solver and change agent that can drive strategy, build, and lead large teams and sponsor organizational change in challenging environments. Strength in addressing complex problems and skilled at identifying and deploying a strategy to the operational level, providing solutions and improved competitiveness, resulting in increased productivity growth and margins.

Community involvement includes serving on the Board of Directors of numerous public and private organizations and committees both regionally and internationally. Todd has an MBA specializing in International Business from Athabasca University. Todd joined the Board of Directors in 2023.
